Snæfellsnes – our home

“The untouched nature leaves no one untouched.”

The untouched nature of our home, the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, leaves no one untouched. Home to natural wonders such as the Snæfellsjökull Glacier, Kirkjufell mountain and the archipelago of Breiðafjörður Bay. The variety is endless. Here you can experience the unique natural elements of Iceland in one place and while you’re at it, make sure to visit the locals in the area as well.

The waters around the peninsula, especially in Breiðafjörður bay on its northern side, are bountiful with diverse ecosystems and sources of food that have sustained the population throughout its history. Breiðafjörður and its ecosystem is preserved by law with its inner part characterized by countless little islands and strong tidal currents.

On a tour around the peninsula, you see farmland with sheep, horses and cows. Small fishing villages, full of life by the harbors. Beautiful and pristine lava fields. Snæfellsjökull volcano with its glacier and mystical power. Black and white beaches, rugged and shapely mountains, fjords, coves, valleys and heaths. Water is bountiful, with rivers, creeks, waterfalls, natural mineral water and geothermal springs.

You can experience the magic any way you like, taking a short stroll at a quiet beach, hiking a hill or just sitting in the soft moss within a lava field.
